The Count István Széchenyi Memorial Competition kicks off on Thursday

The Count István Széchenyi Memorial Competition commemorates a truly special occasion: on 23 May 1914, the predecessor of the Budapest Equestrian Club (BLK), the Budapest Equestrian Sport Association, held its first official show jumping competition at the Tattersall Riding Hall. From then on, the National Riding Hall hosts the competition every May. This year it is held from the 26th to the 29th May.

From Thursday to Sunday, there will be 18 events with a total prize money of 46,600 EUR. The 26,000 EUR Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. 229 riders from 10 countries entered 300 horses for the four-day tournament.
