Greek Victory in the Young Horses’ Final
On Saturday, the young horses’ final took place at the 1.30-1.35m with a jump-off. A very respectable field of 54 horse and rider pairs took part in the competition presented by the Hungarian Sport Horse Breeders’ Association, with a total prize money of €3000.
There were 11 obstacles and 13 efforts on the course. Almost half of the field, 23 pairs, qualified for the jump-off. On the short course, which decided the final result, consisted of six obstacles and seven efforts, 14 riders delivered clear rounds.
Helmut Schönstetter and De Luxe de Plaisir opened the competition with a fast clear ride. The German rider entered three horses in total, two of which he managed without faults.
However, the second starter AngelosTouloupis on Domino Z took the lead and could not be beaten.
A Hungarian horse and rider pair finished in second place: Zsolt Németh’s stallion Cornet Champion-N by Cornet Obolensky ridden by Tamás Mráz, earning silver medal.
Third place went to Slovak David Horvath and Nibolensky owned by Borislav Borisov.
Fourth place went to Mykola Pylypeiko and Kneker, fifth to Sara Vingralkova on Check vd Steenovenhoeve Z, sixth to Krisztián Búza on Cascaya SJ.
Karin Schindele and Klaudia Szalai congratulated the winners.
