Noémi Kovács Wins VIP Tour Final

Saturday morning in the National Riding Hall featured the second round of the young horses’ competition and the VIP Tour final.

Young horses lined up for the second time at Count István Széchenyi Memorial Competition 2026. Key numbers of the competition: 12 obstacles, 14 efforts, 34 participants, 21 clear rounds.

The field was dominated by six-year-olds, as only one seven-year-old horse managed to place in the top six. The victory went to Rodrigo Szuhai on his gelding Ugano-K Van Kattenheye, by Mugano Van Klapscheut × Elvis Ter Putte.

László Tóth on Pearl Jam G, a horse by I M Special de Muze × Voltaire finished second.

Third place was taken by Gyula Szuhai, Jnr. on Doha Z (Diarado × Comme IL Faut 5).

Thursday’s winning pair, Gábor Szabó, Jnr. and Carabella Z, captured fourth place this time.

Robert Fekar, member of the jury, congratulated the podium finishers and the placed riders.

The final of the young horses’ competition will take place on Sunday, and a jump-off will determine the final ranking and, of course, the distribution of the €1,200 total prize money.

The first final of the weekend was contested by a field of 55 riders in the 1.25m VIP Tour.

Gold went to Noémi Kovács, the 2025 national amateur champion and indoor amateur champion, in the saddle of Che Che R.Cs.

Csenge Frányó on Clever Chap took silver place by a narrow margin, while Maja Vései on Lifetime finished third.

Lena Dudkowska (POL) on Aruna Dh Z earned fourth place, Lili Dominika Sallai on Irisz fifth, Ekaterina Firyulina on Sonatina Blue sixth.

The president of the jury, Melinda Schlezák and the competition director, Dorottya Stróbl congratulated the riders.
