Large Field with Two Winners in the M4 1.40 M Contest

Although the entry record was not broken, just as in 2025, two gold medals were awarded this year as well in the 1.40 m competition, which received 102 entries. According to the relevant part of the international competition rules, if the number of entrants exceeds 100, the field must be split into two groups, with results announced separately for each.

The first part of the two-phase competition consisted of eight obstacles, and the second phase of five. Despite the large field, only 28 riders completed both phases with a double clear round. It should also be noted that many riders withdrew from the competition; the main reason was that competitors considered this event as preparation for the days ahead and simply wanted to familiarize their horses with the course, while conserving the horses’ resources in the heat.

László Tóth, starting second-to-last, took a risk and set a fast pace. His strategy paid off, and he claimed victory on Conmir T.
