The Count István Széchenyi Memorial Competition kicks off on Thursday

The Count István Széchenyi Memorial Competition commemorates a truly special occasion: on 23 May 1914, the predecessor of the Budapest Equestrian Club (BLK), the Budapest Equestrian Sport Association, held its first official show jumping competition at the Tattersall Riding Hall. From then on, the National Riding Hall hosts the competition every May. This year it is held from 27 to 30 May.
From Thursday to Sunday, there will be 18 events with a total prize money of more than €45,000. The €26,000 Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. 198 riders from 12 countries entered 284 horses for the four-day tournament.
