Slovak Victory in the Young Horses’ Competition, Roland Kovács Leading in the Bronze Tour
The CSIO3*-W-NC EEF SF International Jumping Championships and World Cup kicked off on Thursday morning with the young horses’ competition for a total prize money of €2000. Fifty-five competitors had to complete 11 obstacles with one combination on the 445m course.
Firstly, the six-year-old horses competed at 1.25m and after a break the height of the obstacles was raised to 1.30m for the seven-year-olds.
Slovak David Horvath, on his six-year-old Hungarian owned Nibolensky, by Ibolensky × Heartbreaker, claimed victory in the opening competition of the four-day event.
Second and third place went to Tamás Mráz on I’m Georgia Blue PS and Cornet Champion-N followed by Greek Angelos Touloupis on Domino Z.
Csaba Szabó, member of the jury, congratulated the riders.
Forty-one horse and rider pairs lined up in the CSI1* 1.15m Bronze Tour presented by MTVA. The total prize money was €1000. Riders had to complete 11 obstacles with 12 efforts on a course designed by Bernardo Costa Cabral.
Half of the field rode clear rounds, so the name of the top placed riders changed continuously. Afterwards, Roland Kovács and his mare Lagretta HB scored the fastest perfect round.
Anna Simicska and Dante finished second, just four tenths of a second behind the winning duo, and Péter Szuhai on the seven-year-old My Concept PS in third.
Other runners-up: Emma Mécs on PM Chaccera, Annabell Bodnár on Lay Your Love on Z, András Kövy, Jnr. on Manitu 88.
