Rodrigo Szuhai’s Thrilling Victory in the Medium Tour Final
The first jump-off event of the weekend was the CSI2* Medium Tour Final. Of the 47 starters, 18 horse and rider pairs managed to complete the 135cm course clear, making for a very respectable field to compete for the €4,000 prize offered by E-Sporthorses, a frozen embryo of excellent pedigree, and the special prize of Baileys Horse Feeds.
Henri Kovács on Tambourino had already shown during the previous days that they were in excellent form. This time they completed the course in a fantastic time of 32.53 seconds, a seemingly unsurpassed performance.
But then came 15 years young Rodrigo Szuhai on Cornet and surpassed the excellent performance of the Finnish pair to take the win with a time of 31.76 seconds.
Czech rider Natalie Kovarova on Ares finished third.
The runners-up also had every reason to celebrate, as they all completed the course of the jump-off clear. The runners-up were ZsófiaVándor on Chacco-Bella, Péter Szuhai on Casallina Psz, and Bianca Babanitz on Cantinoso.
Ministerial Commissioner Gyula Dallos and Prof. Dr. Péter Sótonyi, Vice President of the Hungarian Equestrian Federation, and Robert Fekar, member of the jury congratulated the riders.
