“A Nemzetközi Lovas Szövetség (FEI) azt a kompromisszumos megoldást választotta, hogy mindkét jelentkező, azaz Budapest és Moszkva is rendez egy-egy kvalifikációs versenyt, amelyeken egy-egy csapatkvóta talál gazdára” – adta hírül Stróbl Dorottya, a Magyar Lovassport Szövetség főtitkára.
Az eredeti kiírás szerint a Közép- és Kelet-Európát, valamint Közép-Ázsiát magában foglaló régió egyetlen kvalifikációs versenyén két csapatkvóta talált volna gazdára. Az új kiírás alapján viszont a területhez tartozó országok választhatnak, melyik versenyen indulnak, s mindkettőről a győztes vehet részt a 2020-as tokiói ötkarikás játékokon.
